Sunday Brunch

Sunday brunches are meant for leisure.

Of course, when juggling a baby with one hand and flipping a pancake with the other (which my husband does with increasing ease), leisure begins to seem very, very scarce. Days like this require some seeking, some mustering, and aha! A bit of slowness graciously enters.

Amidst today's acrobatics, the family joined us for some of our favorites. Here, Buttermilk Biscuits with White Bean Gravy and Seitan Bacon.

Tarte aux Poireaux et Pomme de Terre, a creamy leek tart on a crust of flattened potatoes.

A salad featuring the best of Spring: peas, asparagus, and fresh mint.

Cornmeal Pancakes (originally waffles from Vegan with a Vengeance) heaped with strawberries and Soyatoo whipped topping.

Wow your seitan bacon looks really good. Is there a recipe you can share or cookbook you used? I just found your blog and am loving it!
